West York senior running back Brandon Real, who had perhaps the greatest offensive season in YAIAA history this fall, has been named to the first team of The Associated Press Class AAA all-state football team.

The team is selected following statewide voting by sportswriters and broadcasters.

Real scored 51 touchdowns in 13 games this season before breaking his collarbone in the second half of the Bulldogs' District 3 Class AAA semifinal victory over Garden Spot.

He had 41 rushing touchdown and surpassed 2,500 yards on the ground. He also scored 10 touchdowns on kickoffs -- mostly in the first half of the season, before opponents stopped kicking to him.

In West York's District 3 playoff win over Conrad Weiser, Real rushed for 406 yards and six touchdowns.

Real was joined by two other running backs on the all-state first team -- Owen J. Roberts sophomore Ryan Brumfield and Thomas Jefferson senior Brian Baldrige
